“International Women’s Day is an opportunity for individuals and organisations who truly believe in women, invest in women and make the workplace a place that caters for the pressures of womanhood."

Renaissance Care is leading the charge in the care sector with eight talented women at the helm of the organisation pushing forward and creating an innovative workplace for all employees.

This International Women’s Day, the care home operator showcases the talent leading the group in its ambitious growth strategy through sector-leading policies and continued staff investment.

The senior management team, led by managing director Louise Barnett, is made up of eight women holding senior positions including operations Director, Head of Quality and People Services Director.

The team has been pivotal in introducing policies that truly change the landscape and work culture for women in the workplace, having introduced policies such as the Renaissance Care Menopause Policy that provides a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for everyone to learn and discuss menopause and the challenges associated with it. The Care Group also provided all employees with Menopause Training to educate and provide guidance on supporting colleagues through this time.

Additionally, in a sector that relies on shift workers which unfortunately discriminates against those with personal caring responsibilities, Renaissance Care was one of the first to introduce a revolutionary flexible working policy that supports families with childcare as well as personal caring responsibilities. The policy allows employees to accommodate childcare and caring responsibilities to provide a balanced work, life approach within the organisation.

Finally, the team leading Renaissance Care and positioning them as an innovative and empathetic employer has invested heavily in leadership training with a view to retaining and upskilling its knowledgeable and valued members of staff already within the organisation.

Louise Barnett, Managing Director of Renaissance Care said: “International Women’s Day is an opportunity for individuals and organisations who truly believe in women, invest in women and make the workplace a place that caters for the pressures of womanhood, to speak about those achievements.

“We are very proud to have a female-heavy team making up the board of directors, senior management team and operational teams meaning we can make a difference, affect change and recognise where progress needs to be made at every level.

“Through the work we’ve done at Renaissance Care we’ve established ourselves as an employer of choice who listens, acts and ultimately cares about our employees.

“We create policies that provide positive changes to those across the organisation such as our Flexible Working Policy, we lead the way in recognising health and wellbeing challenges and set about addressing change in our organisation to alleviate those pressures with our Menopause Policy and we provide continued investment for our teams to ensure they are learning, progressing and thriving at every level.”

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

The theme for 2025 is Accelerate Action, acting as a worldwide call to action to acknowledge the strategies, resources and activity that positively impact women's advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
