Leading Scottish care home group, Renaissance Care, has announced three new appointments as part of its commitment to strengthening leadership and investing in the expertise needed to deliver exceptional person-centred care.

Lynne Rennie and Sarah Gray join as Care Home Managers, bringing a wealth of experience to their new roles. Lynne Rennie, appointed Home Manager at Cowdray Club Care Home in Aberdeen, has been a qualified nurse for over 15 years. Transitioning to care home nursing in 2013, Lynne’s career has progressed through a variety of roles from nurse to deputy manager to home manager.

Her priorities include maintaining Cowdray Club’s stellar reputation for resident care while fostering a supportive and motivated team environment. She said: “I aim to lead with passion and be present on the floor, supporting my team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

“Staff engagement and wellbeing are crucial to overcoming challenges in the sector,” Lynne shared.

At Renaissance Care, our people are the heart of what we do. The addition of Lynne, Sarah, and Tracey highlights our ongoing investment in skilled leadership and the expertise needed to keep raising the standard of care.

She also emphasised the importance of effective communication and creating strong relationships with residents, families, and staff.
Sarah Gray takes on the role of Home Manager at Rosepark Care Home in Uddingston. With 12 years of nursing experience exclusively in care homes, Sarah’s goal is to build on the progress at Rosepark and strengthen its foundation of excellent care. She prioritises stability, team cohesion, and fostering open communication with staff and relatives.

“I’m excited to bring new ideas, such as launching a residents’ Wishing Tree and transforming our conservatory into a pub-style bar. My goal is to enhance the home’s environment and showcase the incredible commitment of our care teams,” Sarah said.

She is passionate about challenging any stigma surrounding care homes by showcasing the hardworking and committed people who work in the homes – who go the extra mile and make each day matter for the people they care for.

At a senior level, Tracey McMillan has joined Renaissance Care as Quality Manager for North Scotland, a role that spans Aberdeen, Inverness, Forres, and Peterhead. With three decades of experience as a social worker, including 15 years in older adult services and six as a service manager for Aberdeen City Council, Tracey brings a unique blend of expertise to her role.

“Having completed a quality improvement course, I’m thrilled to use those skills to benefit both staff and residents,” said Tracey, who’s committed to fostering person-centred care, engaging with local councils and social workers, and strengthening community connections to enhance the lives of residents.

“I always think to myself, ‘would this be good enough for my loved one?’ and let this guide my decisions, ensuring that each and every resident is treated with the care and respect they deserve,” she added. Tracey’s vision is to demonstrate the value of care homes as vibrant, enriching environments and not just places where people go to live out their final days.

Louise Barnett, managing director at Renaissance Care, said: “At Renaissance Care, our people are the heart of what we do. The addition of Lynne, Sarah, and Tracey highlights our ongoing investment in skilled leadership and the expertise needed to keep raising the standard of care.

“We’re excited about the fresh perspectives they bring and their dedication to enhancing the lives of our residents. Their combined backgrounds in nursing, social work, and quality management represents a diverse and powerful skill set that will support our goals to improve outcomes for our residents and create a positive, rewarding workplace for our staff.”

Renaissance Care, which celebrates its 20-year anniversary this year, now operates 18 care homes across Scotland, employing more than 1,400 people and caring for over 860 residents.
