Marie Kelly, Celebrating 30 Years Long-Service
It seems like yesterday but 30 years have flown by!
In 1993, ‘I will always love you’ by Whitney Houston was topping the UK music charts, but in our eyes, one of the best things to happen that year was welcoming Marie Kelly into the domestic team at Rosepark care home in Uddingston.
Late last month, Marie celebrated 30 years of working at Rosepark. She joined on the 24th of February 1993 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Working her way to Head Housekeeper, Marie is described by her colleagues as ‘one of the best’. They said, ‘not only is she caring and compassionate, but it’s incredible to see her carry out her work with the same commitment and dedication that she did way back then.’
Although there have been many changes within Rosepark during her career, Marie has said that one of the best changes to happen was her mother moving into the care home to live in 2018.
It can often be a difficult transition for families to move a loved one into care, however, for Marie, it meant that she could see her often, and was 100% sure that she would receive the best care possible.
I love my job here at Rosepark and I’ll continue to do it to the best of my ability. I love spending time with residents while I work and I’ve built up some really strong friendships and relationships over the years.

‘I never thought that when I started this job I would still be here 30 years on. I’m due to retire in seven years but I’ve worked here so long now that I’m not sure what I’ll do with myself each day. I’ll still be back to visit I’m sure, I’d love to keep that connection with residents I’ve cared for.’
‘I love my job here at Rosepark and I’ll continue to do it to the best of my ability. I love spending time with residents while I work and I’ve built up some really strong friendships and relationships over the years. I’d say one of the things I enjoy most is seeing familiar faces each week. It’s true what they say, you really do create a second family when you work in a care home.’
Marie was delighted to receive flowers, gifts and mementoes to mark her 30th anniversary.
Thank you for all that you’ve done for the residents and families of Rosepark, you really are one in a million Marie.
