What is nursing care?

Our nurses support and treat residents with health conditions ranging from musculoskeletal ailments to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. They work closely with external providers including doctors and healthcare specialists to ensure a holistic approach. A detailed pre-admission health assessment enables our team to create a unique nursing care plan in collaboration with the resident, their relatives and specialists where appropriate. This approach is highly personalised, ensuring residents receive the comprehensive nursing care they require, in a welcoming and friendly environment.

  • They take great care of my wife who has been there since March 2019. There is a good range of activities on offer for residents to take part in and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. Relative, Jesmond
  • We as a family have found the staff very caring and attentive to my dad and his needs. Some of the staff are excellent with my dad and we can see that he has really taken to them. Relative, Whitecraigs
  • It's never an easy decision to place a relative in a care home but when my mum was diagnosed with dementia and my own health situation required a lengthy recovery to find Glencairn was a relief. I can't praise Glencairn highly enough, the care given to my mum is excellent. The staff are wonderful and caring in every way. Relative, Glencairn
  • I live abroad and upon my last visit to Glencairn I was able to see my mother each day for a week and observed how the home is run, meeting many of the staff, too. My mother has dementia and the empathy she receives from the staff and fellow residents is wonderful to see. I feel reassured that she's being treated well and that the care is tailored to her needs.
