Laundry Assistant, Meadowlark

 

We’re looking for a dedicated team member to join our team as a Laundry Assistant, where you will play a key role in ensuring our residents feel comfortable and cared for every day. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for helping others, this is the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others.


We are seeking an experienced Laundry Assistant to join our team in Meadowlark for 22.5 hours a week.

Residents feel most at ease when they are surrounded by their personal belongings and dressed in their favourite, most comfortable clothing. As a Laundry Assistant, you play a vital role in our care home, ensuring that each resident's belongings are well cared for and returned promptly to their rooms, contributing to their comfort and dignity.


Your primary responsibility will be to manage the laundry process with care and attention to detail, including collecting, washing, sorting, and pressing linens and clothing, as well as making any necessary repairs to ensure every item is returned to its owner in great condition.


You will make sure all laundry machines are used correctly, regularly monitored, and properly maintained (via our maintenance teams), promptly reporting any faults or damage. You will also adhere to COSHH requirements and promote safe working practices, always following company policies and procedures.

Requirements


The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate attention to detail. You will understand COSHH and HACCP and be a great team player.
Communication is the key to working within the home and we encourage you to build meaningful connections with residents within the home.  You should be caring and friendly in nature and will respect residents’ dignity and privacy. Confidentiality and discretion is key within the role.
