Head Chef, Kingsmills

 

Catering within Renaissance Care is an award-winning team the prioritises inclusion, creativity and nutrition.

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in Kingsmills for 40 hours per week, with some weekend working.

As a head of Department in one of our care homes, your duties will include supporting and managing the kitchen team to prepare healthy and nutritious seasonal meals for our residents, as well as catering for any specialist dietary requirements. So you'll have plenty of opportunity to put your interest and passion for food to good use.

You’ll be experienced in food preparation with good knowledge and cooking skills and comfortable working within a budget, as you carry out ordering and stock control to ensure you deliver a balanced, nutritious diet, ensuring a range of options are available at mealtimes for our residents to choose from. You will be responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, reporting any damages or breakages to the maintenance team or home manager. You will follow and supervise the kitchen team to work within COSHH and HACCP regulations and maintaining the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen.

You will work alongside Home Manager as well as our Catering & Dining Ops Manager to drive and embed new standards and initiatives within the home.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have proven experience managing a kitchen team. Preferably, although not essential, you will have experience in a similar role within the care sector or experience cooking for large groups and menu planning as well.
