When my mum needed to be looked after 24 hours a day, I visited Whitecraigs and on my first visit, I knew this was a lovely place.

When my mum moved in, she was a bit on edge about being in a care home.  Within a few days she was quite settled, and after a few weeks she told me she had not felt so happy and content since my dad had passed away, seven years earlier.

She loved the company of other residents and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities which the home provided, not just for residents, but for the families as well.

It was lovely to listen to mum telling me every day about all the things she had been doing.

The staff, from the manager, the nursing staff, the careers and the domestic staff were all extremely kind, caring and went the extra mile to keep the residents safe.

I will be eternally grateful to everyone for all the wonderful job you did in looking after and caring so much for my mum.

With much love from me and all my family.

Starting as a senior care assistant set me up well for becoming activities co-ordinator in 2013 and gave me a solid foundation for understanding individual care needs, a skill which is crucial in my current role.
